The Mind Is Its Own Instagram Feed

It scrolls.
Endlessly.
Through thoughts, memories, imagined futures, half-formed fears.
And just like that, you’re not here anymore.
You’ve been pulled out of life.
Out of the moment.
Out of you.
This is the energy drain no one talks about.
Not the meetings. Not the kids. Not the tasks.
But the mind constantly streaming a feed of stories you didn’t choose.
Just like Instagram shows you curated glimpses of other people’s lives, the mind shows you curated glimpses of your own past, of made-up futures, of identity-based fears and comparisons.
It’s wild, really.
You think you’re sitting in your car.
Or walking to the kitchen.
But you’re actually deep in the feed thinking about a sale at a shop, a comment from last week, a worry about tomorrow.
And then you wake up, just for a second.
Where the fuck was I?
You were inside the feed.
And what it steals isn’t just your time.
It’s your life force.
Your presence.
Your awareness.
Because thoughts aren’t life.
They drain life.
They pull your aliveness out of this moment and scatter it across a hundred illusions.
And then you wonder why you feel tired.
Heavy.
Disconnected.
It’s not always because something’s wrong.
It’s because you left.
Not intentionally.
But gradually.
Through the scroll of mind.
And here’s the truth:
You are not the thoughts.
You are not the feed.
You are the one watching it.
And when you stop scrolling when you land
you remember:
You are life.
You are this moment.
You are not what moves through you.
You are what holds it.
